A Day in Solvang


Today I drove to the beautiful town of Solvang in the Santa Ynez Valley. What beautiful scenery with all of the green areas and the fields of mustard; it was absolutely stunning!

While there, I attended Jose Villa's workshop. My dear friends from "foro de fotografos" Rene Miranda and Rodolfo Arpia were also there. Jose did an excellent job of organizing the event which included a delicious lunch at the Meadows Restaurant. After the lecture portion of the workshop, Jose took us to two locations, providing models for us to photograph. I also really enjoyed the time with all of the other photographers that attended. I think there were about 25 of us.

Hello!

On Tuesday, I visited the Wedding and Portrait
Photographers International (WPPI) offices in Santa
Monica and got to spend time with my new friend Susan.
It felt great to just talk and talk and talk some
more with her! We enjoyed a delicious lunch at
Greco’s Bistro. Afterwards, we returned to WPPI where
I got to see many of the prints that had been
submitted for competition by wedding and portrait
photographers. Wow! There were prints everywhere,
even though I was told that some had all ready been
returned.

It was so nice to meet some of the people at
Rangerfinder magazine, including some of the artists
in the Art and Editorial Department. I did not remain
a stranger too long, because everyone made me feel so
welcome.

My thanks to every single member of the Rangerfinder
team for all of the hard work that went into making
the Las Vegas convention so successful. It was fun
and educational at the same time!
