Engagement session in Ventura County

This engagement session was one of my very favorite places to shoot; Ventura County. Ben and Sheyla want to go to the “cross”, a very special place here in Ventura. You can overlook the entire Ventura County and the Pacific Ocean. The place is very romantic and beautiful to spend some time alone or to just hang out. Ben and Sheyla wanted to start right on that spot. After we drove to the “cross“, we walked down Main Street where you can find many little stores and great restaurants. You see! That’s why I love my Ventura. ;) Ben and Sheyla met on a trip they took, while on a mission, to the Dominican Republic. Right then they fell in love!! The ministries, it’s quite wonderful, you should check it out at
go-ministries.org. It’s a non-profit organization. In the month of October, Ben and Sheyla are going to celebrate their marriage on the beautiful grounds of the Hyatt Hotel in Westlake Village; I can’t wait! It’s going to be a fantastic wedding full of “cumbia” because Sheyla is from Colombia, just like my sweet and wonderful hubby. ;)

Wedding in Moopark at the Secret Garden

Hello my dear followers and new visitors. These past weeks have been oddly dry and hot. As you all have seen, I have been working non-stop. (gratefully, always)
The wedding of Steven and Montserrat took place last Sunday, here in Ventura County, just a few minutes from my house. This sweet couple got some amazing images when we did their engagement session in Orange County, with the orange truck; here is the link:
Their wedding was very nice and sweet. They were surrounded by their closest family members and their closest friends. The ceremony and reception were held at the Secret Garden in Moorpark; one of my favorite places here in town. If you know me, I have a tendency to “pull” my couples, for a few minutes, while the guests eat their dinner, in order to get some dramatic photos. It’s just us and no one else. Well, Steven and Montserrat where so happy to do it. We went to the train station in Moorpark and got some fantastic images. Thank you again to the Secret Garden for always treating me and my associates as a guest. Michel, you are the best!! Thank you to David for always going along with my crazy ideas.

Wedding at the Porter Ranch Country Club

Happy week dear friends. I have been so excited lately that I wish you could see me now (dancing). Last week we were part of the wedding in Northridge of Nate and Sarah. I arrived at Sarah’s cousin’s house where all of the girls, along with Sarah, were getting ready. It was fun to see all of the ladies getting ready all at once; oh yes, in one bathroom!! But it was just perfect because everyone took turns. When Sarah was ready with her hair, make-up and her gorgeous dress, we went and did some portraits of her, solo. After achieving what I wanted, we all drove to the Porter Valley Country Club where the boys were waiting for us. Nate and Sarah chose to see each other before the ceremony. That went as planned and was as special as they had always dreamed of; again the pressure was off. Right after, the bridal party joined us for some fun shots. After a little while, we tucked the bride away. (Guests should not see the bride at all). The ceremony was beautiful. The background was the golf course and the pond which is on the grounds of the Country Club. At night the view was to die for; the perfect place to be with the weather we had last week. The DJ was Liberty City; they rocked the night and kept all of the guests happy and dancing. Julie Pittman, the catering manager at the Country Club, made sure that all of the details for the wedding were ready as Sarah wanted. The flowers, by A Symphony of Flowers, were perfect.
